API INSPECTIONS
Your Premium Provider
AIW TECH is glad to announce were licensed in the following API disciplines 510, 570, 653, 1169, API QUTE (Phased Array) for authorized inspections & repair recommendations. We strive on witnessing repairs, seeing surface preparation, verification of isometrics/drawing/P&IDs, fit-ups, cuts & more prior to repairs. We also follow through while in repair process to assure beginning & final result is per client/owner specifications/procedures. We also support shut-downs, turn-arounds, outages. We also surveillance decommission/commission and out of service inspection repairs. We also provide inspections prior to change of service. Internal/External Interval inspections. Fitness for service, In-service, similar service inspections. We also surveillance/perform NDT activities where required.

API establishes standards that are used internationally within the oil and gas industry and are designed to help users improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of their operations. Comply with federal, legislative and regulatory requirements and safeguard health, ensure safety, and protect the environment. AIW Tech uses these standards to Maximize efficiency and value of its API inspection services and to ensure the safety of all personnel involved in API related work activities.
API SERVICES
API 510
The Code API 510 covers maintenance inspection, repair, alteration & operating procedures for pressure vessels used by petroleum & chemical process industries. (Drums, Heaters, Exchangers, Towers, Vessels, Fuel Tanks).

* During API 510 Inspection the inspector will first perform a full visual inspection external/internal & appurtenances. Understand the vessel and past inspections/reparations. All surfaces must be cleaned and prepared prior inspection so that VT/MT/PT/UT Inspections can be performed. After visual inspection, UT thickness measurements will be carried out on the shell, end caps (heads), nozzles. Internal surface cracking inspection will be performed by MT/PT Techniques on a percentage of welds with special emphasis on longitudinal welds due to their criticality. A full report of inspection results will be provided outlining all findings and recommended corrective actions for repair.

API 570
The Code API 570 covers inspection, repair, alteration, and rerating procedures for in-services metallic piping process systems. It establishes requirements and guidelines that allow owners/users of piping systems to maintain the safety and mechanical integrity of systems after they have been placed into service.

* During API 570 Inspection visual inspections performed to all piping. AIW tech inspectors understand hydrostatic and pressure testing requirements. Assures isometrics are within P&ID requirements. AIW tech inspectors are certified to sketch field drawings. Our Inspectors apply UT techniques to assure changes of directions & areas of importance are tested to assure thickness loss throughout service. We specialize in understanding material types & damage mechanisms based on internal flow process. CUI Inspection is performed to detect areas of deviation. Use of high technology data acquisition equipment is used to assure monitoring integrity. Our inspectors can perform aerial inspections to meet client needs regardless location of instrumentation. Data is compiled and recorded for client future planning use.

API 653
The Code API 653 covers the maintenance, inspection, alteration and repair of steel, field-erected aboveground storage tanks (Dome/Floating roof tanks).

* During API 653 Inspection the inspector will first perform a full visual inspection external/internal & appurtenances. Understand the tank and past inspections/reparations. All surfaces must be cleaned and prepared prior inspection so that VT/MT/PT/UT Inspections can be performed. Roof Internal/External Visual inspections will be performed along with UT thickness readings along with the shell. Readings will be performed per shell courses. Longitudinal/Vertical welds will be inspected due to criticality. Floor Bottom and Corner internal/external welds to be inspected in depth. Annular plates and weld spacing would be evaluated. Tank structure and foundation survey to be performed. Cathodic/Rectifier protection to be evaluated. Tank floor thickness to be evaluated. Annual, 5 year, 10 year and RBI based inspection intervals performed to the highest standard.

API 1169
The Code API 1169 covers the basic requirements and their associated references needed to perform inspection activities safely and effectively during onshore pipeline construction. Areas covered : In process construction inspection, roles/responsibilities, personnel and pipeline safety, environmental and pollution control.
* During API 1169 Inspection the inspector will perform in process full visual inspection. In-line inspection tools, referred to as "Intelligent" or "Smart Pigs" are used to inspect for evidence of internal or external corrosion, deformations, laminations, cracks, or other defects. Magnetic Flux Leakage and Ultrasonic testing are the two primary methods for in-line inspection of pipelines and each have their own strengths. UT Instrumentation (Scopes) are well suited for heavy walled pipe. The UT device transmits sound from and to the pipe wall. The presence of any interference in between pipe wall will alarm the instruments sensors. Transfer lines are also treated similarly. Traceability and mapping throughout all operations & personnel to be tracked/reported. Material verifications performed.
